I was in Kansas City at the American Evaluation Association conference meeting great people so I thought I would give you a break. I co-hosted a big data viz party and taught ~50 evaluators how to get started with Power BI in a half-day "Crash Course" workshop. I'll share a couple photos further below... This week's post is all about the basics of the Table Visual. How to make one, and how to make them summarize data in different ways. Data Viz Party? Data Viz Party!!!!
What happens when a conference gives me some money for running a workshop? My instinct is to put it towards a party. I partnered with Stephanie Evergreen, Erin Waldron of Bar Chart Club fame, and Felicia Styer and Sean Marshall of the KC Tableau Users Group and we rented out a hotel bar for a night, gave everyone free food and booze and good/bad karaoke. :) Would totally do it again. Maybe in YOUR city someday!
